Unity Center of Reno

At Unity Center we offer a positive and practical approach to Spirituality. We embrace the universal truths in Christianity as well as other religions with an emphasis that moves humanity toward oneness through love and forgiveness. Our focus is in creating a healthy relationship with God, which is Love itself through prayer, meditation, and practicing The 5 Principles.

Reno Gazette Journal / Faith Forum Question… How do you view Pope Francis?

3/31/24
He’s a Good [Easter] Egg
Toni King, Spiritual Leader, Unity Center of Reno

Pope Francis has been like no other before him, using his gift of infallibility to teach God as Love through demonstrations of compassion and forgiveness. He does this while walking the line between where we reside in collective consciousness and the expression of Divinity he must mystically know us all to be. Each time I hear of his next great proclamation, it’s obvious he could have taken it further, e.g., same-sex couples can be blessed, but not recognized through the sacrament of marriage. Yet, he cannot inch mankind forward by leaving behind those who cling to an old paradigm. Pope Francis must authentically, albeit strategically, remain rooted as the peacemaker for change to take root in the heart of Catholicism. If it feels like slow-going, answer the call to join the crusade for consciousness evolution. Regardless of religion, we can all act from a center of Love in all ways.

Reno Gazette Journal / Faith Forum Question… What is your ultimate concern?

3/24/24
I Am, in service to Love

Toni king, Spiritual Leader, Unity Center of Reno

“Love”, big ‘L’, is my religion: Love that heals, Love that sets you free. Love that is in service to the awakening of mankind into its higher ultimate concern, is my ultimate concern. If the purpose of humankind is for God to know Itself, then we are all on a path toward superconsciousness, a godly, transcendental state of awareness. Yet, we are interconnected and cannot truly sustain residence in the highest levels of our being until we all get there, as one. To do this, we need the healing power of Love. My path, my ‘ultimate concern’, is Love.

I preach that wherever we place focus is what we are worshipping. Thoughts and feelings are vibrational and become habitualized at the level of the subconscious mind. “Where attention goes, energy flows.” In this regard, even atheists are worshipping something. Make it something good. Change your mind. Consider focusing on Love.

The Easter story is a beautiful metaphor for the losses in our lives that lead to unexpected renewal. No matter what comes to an end in our lives, there will always be a new day, a resurrection to celebrate.
