What role does silence or solitude play in your spiritual growth?

Silence is vital…
Toni King, Unity Minister, Unity Center of Reno

…to spiritual growth. Unity Co-founder Charles Fillmore explains, “The Silence is a state of consciousness entered into for the purpose of putting [one] in touch with Divine Mind so that the soul may listen to the ‘still small voice.’” Meditation changes our thinking in a way that enables the skilled practitioner to maneuver through a chaotic world with the ease and precision of a martial artist and the grace of a dancer. For us mere mortals who struggle to quiet the mind, I would suggest a good teacher. It’s worth the investment in Self to be able to move into a place in consciousness where spiritual growth can be observed in and by one’s self through the noticeable shifts in thought and perspective of the world around us. For me, experiencing the Silence is a direct communing with Source and is a healing balm for body, mind, and soul.

Unity Center of Reno
Reno Journal Gazette Faith Forum is produced by religious stateman Rajan Zed.Does God heal the non-believers also?God is PrincipleToni King, Unity Minister, Unity Center of RenoPrinciple is the I Am of us. As Principle, God is more than how we, with our human minds, understand the Almighty, Divine Mind. So, it really doesn’t matter what we believe – or not – about God for Divine Law to be working in and through us. No disrespect to Atheists intended! But as Principle (“I Am”), the activation of healing properties is always available to us simply because we exist – regardless of how we chose to live. The law of mind action tells us we become that which we behold, we manifest what we see in our mind’s eye. If we picture health then we’ll experience health. Of course, “nothing foretells futurity like the thoughts over which we brood.” Let go of negative thoughts and affirm the highest truth imaginable in pure potentiality. As your understanding of the idea of true healing improves, so will your health, regardless of faith. ... See MoreSee Less

Unity Center of Reno
Reno Journal Gazette Faith Forum is produced by religious stateman Rajan Zed.Is consciousness purely a product of the physical brain?Life is consciousness. Unity texts proclaim we are each comprised of Spirit, the I Am; soul, the container for all consciousness; and body, the outer expression of the soul. While the brain is known to be the physical seat of mental consciousness through neural activity, metaphysically, the soul comprises the conscious and subconscious minds (thinking and feeling) including access to the Akashic records, while all along there are centers of the activity of consciousness throughout the body. These centers are of the subconscious realm in us and each one has control of a certain function in mind and body. They are: faith, strength, discernment, love, power, imagination, understanding, will, order, zeal, renunciation (or elimination), and life. When these centers of activity of consciousness are mastered, we can potentially experience “superconsciousness”, also known as “I Am consciousness” or a state of awareness based on an understanding and realization of spiritual Truth. ... The Law That Governs Manifestation

Affirmation: I am worthy and I trust in the Laws of Abundance and Prosperity in all areas of my life.

Join Toni for weekly follow-up sessions to the Sunday Prosperity Lessons in November on Monday evenings at 7PM.
